Scottish Hydro Premier Division Fort William 1 Kyles Athletic 2
Due to the driving skills of Peter Currie, Kyles faced Fort William in this tough Premier League fixture with a squad of only 12. After going behind to a Gordie MacKinnon goal after only 5 minutes it looked as though Kyles were in for a tough day, however some great performances from the boys in blue saw them come away with all the points. Strong performances from Gazza and Young Buck helped the defence restrict Fort Williams forwards to only half chances. Roddy MacDonald dominated the game from the centre putting in a fine performance.Thomas Whyte celebrated the end of Ramadan with a fine game on the wing, hardly giving John MacDonald a hit of the ball. Dunky Kerr on 20 and Grant Irvine on 50 deservedly got the goals after causing the opposition defence problems all day. Kyles had to defend resolutely for periods of the second half as Fort William had a brisk wind at their backs and thoroughly deserved this fine win. A wee mention must also go to Rupert and Phantom who despite not having much experience at this level both acquitted themselves very well.
